Andrea S. Lukes, MD, MHSc, FACOG
Dr. Lukes received her bachelor’s degree in religion from Duke University (1988), followed by a combined medical degree and master’s degree is statistics from Duke University (1994). She completed her Ob/Gyn residency at the UNC (1998). During her 10 years on faculty at Duke University, she co-founded and served as the Director of Gynecology for the Women’s Hemostasis and Thrombosis Clinic at Duke. She participated in numerous research programs supported by the NIH and CDC, as well as conducting multiple industry sponsored FDA trials. She continues to actively consult with industry regarding development and implementation of research protocols, including communications and presentations to FDA.
Dr. Lukes left her academic position at Duke in 2007 to begin Carolina Women’s Research and Wellness Center (CWRWC), and to become Founder and Chair of the Ob/Gyn Alliance.
Amy Stanfield, MD, FACOG
Dr. Stanfield completed undergraduate and medical school at UNC, followed by residency within ObGyn in Charlotte, NC. As a member of AOA, Dr. Stanfield truly provides excellence in gynecology. She has continued private practice since completion of her training, but has recently become a fellow within the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Arizona. She is now the Director of Integrative Medicine for CWRWC and is directly involved is the clinical trials conducted by our team. Dr. Stanfield provides a unique approach to caring for women of all ages which distinguishes her from many of her colleagues. Integrative Medicine is an approach to health that will bring immense benefit to many women. Just in December, 2008, she was featured as an expert in Integrative Medicine for the ObGyn Alliance which has approximately 8,000 members of ObGyn physicians across the United States.

Dr. Lukes actively teaches patients and physicians, speaking for many organizations. Her clinical interests include heavy periods, hemostatic disorders (adult and adolescent), contraception, management of uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and menopause, fertility, recurrent miscarriage, and more. Dr. Lukes is an expert in endometrial ablation, hysteroscopy, and minimally invasive gynecology.
Dr. Stanfield emphasizes complementary and alternative health options for our patients. She has particular interest in developing strategies with women to maintain health and wellness.
Our staff maintains an up-to-date awareness of the latest research and brings opportunities to both physicians and patients to participate within clinical trials.
