ANNOUNCEMENT:        FDA inspects CWRWC in July, 2009 finds our team and process for clinical research is being conducted as it should be.

Carolina Women's Research and Wellness Center was established in 2006 by Dr. Lukes.  Our research and clinical focus is on females of all backgrounds and of all ages.  An interdisciplinary approach is emphasized.  After 10 years at Duke University, Dr. Lukes brings clinical and research experience to our center.  We have developed an integrative team involving many physicians and nurses of differing specialities.  Dr. Stanfield provide clinical expertise for trials and improves our ability to see females quickly and efficiently.  We are led by Atiya Sherwani our Director of Clinical Research, providing opportunities for women in the following areas:

        heavy periods

        endometrial ablation

        uterine fibroids

        anemia

        nutrition

        HPV vaccination

        sexual health

        contraception or birth control

        infertility

        irritable bowel syndrome

        integrative medicine

 AND MORE

Recently we created a network of physicians within North Carolina who are involved in clinical trials - this improves our ability to enroll high numbers of women for a variety of different clinical trials.  We will list these physicians after formal consent this fall (2009).
